=== Accessibility Statement ===

Wild Lemon is designed to support accessible reading, navigation, and publishing
using WordPress core blocks. Accessibility also depends on the content, plugins,
and customizations used on a site. This statement describes the theme's features
and the scope of its developer testing; it is not a conformance certification.

== Quick Information ==

Accessibility audit completed: No

== Testing Tools and Methodology ==

Focused developer checks for versions 1.4.1 and 1.5 were performed on October 3, 2026.
They cover native post navigation at narrow and desktop widths, long titles,
keyboard focus and activation, decorative arrow contrast, increased text spacing,
right-to-left direction emulation, and scoped axe-core scans in Chromium.

Developer checks for version 1.4 were performed on October 2, 2026, using the
WordPress Theme Unit Test data and Theme Check, the WordPress accessibility-ready
requirements, and selected WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria.

Release checks included axe-core automated scans, keyboard navigation and visible
focus, menu and search interactions, form labels and control contrast, gallery
caption contrast, author biographies, narrow layouts, and increased text spacing
in Chromium. Earlier checks on September 30 and October 2 additionally cover
reduced motion, Firefox and WebKit, and compatibility with WordPress 6.7 and 7.1
and PHP 7.4 and 8.3. Those earlier results are recorded separately from this release.
Test evidence and known limitations are recorded in docs/qa in the source
repository: https://github.com/sumanbasuli/wild-lemon

Automated checks cannot establish full accessibility conformance. A comprehensive
audit with assistive technology users, screen readers, physical mobile devices,
and all supported languages has not been completed. Site owners should test their
own published content and customizations. Empty table headings and missing article
titles in the official test content require content-author decisions.

== Screen Reader Text Class ==

The theme uses WordPress core's .screen-reader-text class to visually hide text
while keeping it available to assistive technology. WordPress supplies the skip
link and its focus-visible styling. No alternate screen-reader text class is
required by the theme.

== Accessibility Features ==

* Native WordPress navigation, search, forms, pagination, and expandable details.
* A skip link to the main content and semantic page landmarks.
* Visible keyboard focus, including on the dark footer.
* Responsive layouts and wrapping for long titles and category lists.
* Locally bundled fonts and images, with editable image alternatives.
* Reduced-motion support for theme transitions.
* No required plugins or custom JavaScript controls.
