Plan, review, and publish WordPress articles with a visual calendar, editorial pipeline, checklists, notes, and local readiness checks.

== Description ==

Strive gives WordPress writers and editorial teams a visual system for planning, reviewing, and publishing articles.

Plan scheduled work in the Calendar, move drafts through a clear editorial Pipeline, follow reusable checklists, keep private editorial notes, and run Local Readiness checks before publication—all inside WordPress.

= A complete Free editorial workflow =

* Visual editorial Calendar for scheduled and unscheduled articles.
* Four-stage Pipeline: Not Started, Writing, Editing, and Complete.
* Reusable checklists with per-article progress.
* Editorial notes in the WordPress editor and Strive workspace.
* Local Readiness checks for titles, content, excerpts, featured images, workflow status, and checklist completion.
* Copyable review brief for use with the external writing or review tool of your choice.
* Solo Workspace and Team Workspace interface modes.
* Automatic, Light, and Dark appearance modes.
* No Strive account, AI connection, quota, or payment is required for the Free workflow.

= Focused on articles =

Strive 2 manages the built-in WordPress Posts type. Pages, products, and custom post types remain untouched and do not appear in active Strive workflows. If an earlier Strive version stored metadata for those content types, that historical metadata is preserved during the update.

= Optional Strive Pro =

A separately distributed Strive Pro plugin is available from strivecalendar.com for sites that need additional editorial tools. Its executable code is not included in this WordPress.org package. Strive Free remains fully functional without purchasing, activating, or trying Strive Pro.

== Installation ==

1. Install Strive from the WordPress Plugin Directory, or upload the plugin ZIP through **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin**.
2. Activate **Strive Content Calendar**.
3. On the optional Freemius consent screen, choose **Allow & Continue** or **Skip**. The Free editorial workflow works either way.
4. Open **Posts → Content Calendar**.
5. Choose Solo or Team Workspace and optionally import the visible Strive Editorial Starter checklist.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does Strive Free require AI? =

No. Calendar, Pipeline, checklists, notes, and Local Readiness run inside your WordPress installation without an AI provider.

= Does Strive send my article content to an external service? =

Strive Free does not send article titles, bodies, notes, checklists, or Local Readiness results to an AI service. The optional Freemius SDK handles consented product and account communication as described under External Services.

= Does Strive manage Pages or custom post types? =

No. Strive 2 intentionally manages WordPress Posts—the articles published by the site. Historical Strive metadata attached to Pages or custom post types is not deleted.

= What is the difference between Solo and Team Workspace? =

Both modes include the same Free editorial tools. Solo reduces unnecessary authorship detail. Team keeps authorship and coordination context visible. You can change modes later without migrating article data.

= What happens if I deactivate or remove Strive? =

Your WordPress posts remain WordPress posts. Strive does not delete article content when deactivated. Strive options and post metadata are retained unless deliberately removed by the site owner.

= Can I upgrade to Strive Pro later? =

Yes. The separately distributed Pro plugin replaces the Free plugin and reads compatible Strive options and metadata. Free and Pro should not remain active in parallel.

== External Services ==

Strive includes the Freemius WordPress SDK for optional usage insights, account management, purchases, licensing, and updates for the separately distributed Pro plugin.

Freemius displays a consent screen. You may skip it and continue using every feature included in Strive Free. If you opt in, Freemius may receive basic profile, website, and product information and—if separately permitted—information about installed themes and plugins. Consent can be changed later from the WordPress Plugins screen or the Strive Account screen.

Purchasing or activating the separately distributed Pro plugin communicates with Freemius because Freemius provides its billing, licensing, account, and update services.

* Service provider: [Freemius](https://freemius.com/)
* Privacy policy: [Freemius Privacy Policy](https://freemius.com/privacy/)
* Terms: [Freemius Terms](https://freemius.com/terms/)

Strive Free's Calendar, Pipeline, checklists, onboarding, settings, diagnostics, and Local Readiness screens use assets packaged with the plugin. Freemius account and purchase flows may communicate with Freemius and load its service assets when those flows are opened or used.

== Privacy ==

Article titles, article bodies, editorial notes, checklist text, and Local Readiness results remain in WordPress when using Strive Free. Strive's Site Health information intentionally excludes post titles, notes, checklist text, provider credentials, and license details.

The Freemius communication described above occurs only according to the consent and account choices presented to the user. Site owners remain responsible for describing installed plugins and services in their own privacy notice where required.

== Development ==

Human-readable JavaScript, Gutenberg, and Sass source is included in the plugin's `source-code` directory. Release assets are compiled with esbuild and Dart Sass. Runtime assets are bundled locally.

== Support ==

Documentation and product information are available at [strivecalendar.com](https://strivecalendar.com/). WordPress.org users may also use the plugin's support forum after directory publication.
