Create short ClicAven links from your posts and pages, track clicks, and embed shortened URLs through a simple shortcode.

== Description ==

**ClicAven URL Shortener** connects your WordPress site to your [ClicAven](https://clicaven.com/) account to generate branded short links for your content, right from the editor.

**Features**

* One-click short link generation from the post/page editor (Classic + Block).
* Click counter visible inside the editor sidebar / metabox.
* QR code generator inside the editor (PNG and SVG download, 128 – 1024 px).
* `[clicaven url="https://example.com"]` shortcode with optional `slug`, plus `qr="true"` to render an inline QR code on the front-end.
* Optional automatic shortening when a post is published.
* Custom domain support if you have one configured in ClicAven (Pro+).
* Cached API responses to stay well under your plan rate limit.
* Internationalised: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese.
* QR codes are generated client-side: no external request, no third-party tracking.

**Requirements**

* A free or paid [ClicAven](https://clicaven.com/) account.
* An API key (available on all plans, including Free — generate one from your dashboard).
* PHP 7.4 or higher, WordPress 6.0 or higher.

**External services**

This plugin sends data to ClicAven (`https://clicaven.com`) only when you explicitly trigger a shortening action (clicking the button in the metabox, using the shortcode, or enabling the auto-shorten on publish option). Data sent: the destination URL, your API key (Bearer token), optional custom slug, and optional custom domain hostname. See the [ClicAven Privacy Policy](https://clicaven.com/privacy) and [Terms of Service](https://clicaven.com/terms).

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin to `/wp-content/plugins/clicaven/` or install it from the Plugin Directory.
2. Activate it in **Plugins → Installed Plugins**.
3. Go to **Settings → ClicAven**, paste your ClicAven API key, and click **Save**.
4. Open any post or page; a **ClicAven** box appears with a "Shorten" button.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Where do I get an API key? =

Log in to [clicaven.com](https://clicaven.com/app/api-keys) and create one from your dashboard. The API is available on all plans (Free: 50 links, 30 req/min — Pro and above for higher limits).

= Can I use my own domain? =

Yes. If you have configured a custom domain in ClicAven (Pro+), enter it in **Settings → ClicAven** and the plugin will use it for new links.

= What happens if I delete a short link in WordPress? =

The plugin only removes the link reference from your post meta. The short link itself is **not** deleted from your ClicAven account; manage it from your ClicAven dashboard if you want to remove it for good.

= Does the plugin send analytics or tracking data? =

No. The plugin does not send any analytics. It only calls the ClicAven API when you explicitly ask it to (creating, fetching, or refreshing a link).
