AI chatbot + live chat + help desk for WordPress and WooCommerce. Trained on your website, answers in 20+ languages, hands off to humans.

== Description ==

Chatixy adds an **AI customer support chat** to your WordPress site that
actually knows your business: it is trained on **your own website content and
knowledge base**, answers visitor questions instantly in **20+ languages**, and
hands the conversation to a human the moment it gets out of its depth.

This official plugin puts that widget on your site with **zero code**:

1. Install and activate the plugin.
2. Go to **Settings → Chatixy AI Support Agent**.
3. Click **Connect with Chatixy** - sign in, approve, and your widget key is
filled in automatically (no copy-paste). Or paste your **widget key**
   manually if you prefer.
4. Done. The chat goes live on every page.

= What the chatbot can do =

* **Answers from your content** - point Chatixy at your site; it crawls your
pages, docs and PDFs and answers questions about your products, shipping,
pricing and policies. No canned scripts to write.
* **AI + human, not AI instead of humans** - when the bot can't help or the
visitor asks for a person, the conversation escalates to your shared team
inbox with full context. You reply from the Chatixy dashboard.
* **Speaks your customers' language** - the widget and AI replies work in 21
languages out of the box, including English, German, French, Spanish,
Italian, Dutch, Polish and Portuguese. The plugin's own settings screen is
translated into all of them too.
* **WooCommerce-ready** - runs on any WordPress theme and on WooCommerce
stores: product questions get answered from your own catalog pages.
* **Lead capture** - collect a visitor's email before or during the chat and
follow up from the built-in leads view.
* **Help center + ticketing included** - the same knowledge powers a hosted
help center; unanswered chats become tickets with statuses, assignments and
  priorities.
* **Honest metrics** - the dashboard reports what the AI actually resolved,
  not vanity deflection numbers.
* **Fast and unobtrusive** - the widget loads asynchronously in the footer and
never blocks your page. You control colors, position, greeting and behavior
  from the Chatixy dashboard.

Chatixy is built by an EU company with a GDPR-first mindset: visitor chats are
processed only to answer them, and you can delete conversation data at any
time. See the privacy policy for details.

You need a Chatixy account (https://chatixy.com). Chatixy is a paid
subscription (flat plans from EUR 19/month, no per-seat or per-resolution
fees, and every plan includes a 7-day trial); this plugin is the
connector and is free and GPL-licensed. Pricing, plans and billing are managed
in your Chatixy dashboard, not in WordPress.

== External services ==

This plugin connects to Chatixy (https://chatixy.com), the AI chat service it
is a client for:

* When you click "Connect with Chatixy" it sends you to
`https://chatixy.com/connect` to approve, then exchanges a one-time token
  at `https://chatixy.com/api/v1/integrations/connect/exchange` for your
  widget key.
* On the settings screen it calls `https://chatixy.com/api/v1/widget/verify/<your-key>`
to confirm your widget key is valid and show the connected bot's name.
* On your site's front end it loads `https://chatixy.com/source/<your-key>.js`,
the widget loader, which renders the chat for your visitors.

No data is sent to Chatixy until you add your widget key. Once the widget is
live, visitor chat messages are processed by Chatixy to generate replies. Your
use of the service, and how that data is handled, is governed by Chatixy's terms
and privacy policy:

* Privacy Policy: https://chatixy.com/privacy

2. Activate the plugin.
3. Go to **Settings → Chatixy AI Support Agent** and click **Connect with Chatixy**
(or paste your widget key manually).

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= How is this different from a generic chatbot plugin? =

Chatixy is not a rule-based bot and not a bring-your-own-AI-key plugin. It is
a hosted customer-service product: the AI is trained on your website and
knowledge base, conversations escalate to a real team inbox, and a help
center and ticketing come with it. The plugin is just the one-click connector.

= Does the AI really learn my website? =

Yes. In the Chatixy dashboard you add your site and it crawls your pages
(plus any docs you upload) into a knowledge base. The bot answers from that
content and says so when it doesn't know - it doesn't invent answers.

= Can a human take over the conversation? =

Yes. Visitors can ask for a person, and the bot escalates on its own when it
can't help. Conversations land in a shared inbox in the Chatixy dashboard,
where your team replies in the same chat thread.

= Does it work with WooCommerce? =

Yes. WooCommerce runs on WordPress, so the same plugin works on your store,
and the crawler reads your product pages so the bot can answer product
questions.

= What languages does it support? =

Two different things, both covered:

* **What your visitors see** - the chat widget and the AI replies work in 21
languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish,
Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Latvian, Russian,
Ukrainian, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. The bot
answers in the language the visitor writes in.
* **What you see in wp-admin** - this plugin's own settings screen ships
translated into the same 20 non-English languages, so WordPress shows it in
  your site's language automatically.

If your language is missing, or you would improve a wording, you can suggest
translations at https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/chatixy-ai-customer-service-chat/

= Where do I find my widget key? =

In your Chatixy dashboard under **Assistants**. Open an assistant, go to its
install screen, and copy the 64-character key. You can also paste the whole
embed snippet - the plugin extracts the key for you.

= Will it slow down my site? =

No. The widget loads asynchronously in the footer and never blocks your page.

= How do I hide the chat on certain pages? =

Use the `chatixy_should_render` filter and return `false` for those views.

= Is it GDPR compliant? =

Chatixy is built by an EU company with a GDPR-first approach: chats are
processed to answer your visitors, data processing is documented in the
privacy policy and DPA, and you can delete conversation data. If you run a
consent banner, you can load the widget after consent with the
`chatixy_should_render` filter.

= Is this plugin free? Do I need a paid account? =

The plugin itself is free and GPL-licensed - it is the connector. To use it you
need a Chatixy account, which is a paid subscription (flat plans from EUR 19/month
and every plan includes a 7-day trial). Pricing, plans and billing are
managed in your Chatixy dashboard, not in WordPress. Every plan is paid after
the trial, and pricing is flat and predictable: no per-seat fees and no
per-resolution fees.

== Screenshots ==

1. Settings → Chatixy AI Support Agent - click "Connect with Chatixy" for a one-click
setup, or paste your widget key. Once connected it shows "Connected to «your
bot». Your AI support agent is live."

== Changelog ==

= 1.1.2 =
* The connection notice calls the Chatixy trial a trial and says support agent,
like the dashboard. The not-live warning is translated into all 20 bundled
  languages with the same wording.

= 1.1.1 =
* New name: the plugin is now "Chatixy AI Support Agent". It is an AI support
agent that answers customer questions from your own content, and the old name
described it as a chat widget. Nothing about how it works has changed, and
your widget key and settings are untouched.
* The plugin icon and the directory banner now use the Chatixy brand mark.
Chatixy's branding changed some time ago and the plugin was still shipping
  the previous artwork.
* The renamed strings are translated into all 20 bundled languages, using the
same wording as the Chatixy dashboard, so the two keep matching.

= 1.1.0 =
* The plugin's settings screen is now translated into 20 languages - Arabic,
Chinese, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese,
Korean, Latvian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish,
Turkish and Ukrainian. WordPress picks the right one from your site language
automatically. Previously the admin screen was English only, whatever your
  site language was.
* Fixed: the "Find this in your Chatixy dashboard" link pointed at a dashboard
page that no longer exists, and called it "Widgets". It now opens the
**Assistants** list, matching what the dashboard sidebar actually says.

= 1.0.2 =
* Security hardening: the Chatixy API host is now pinned to chatixy.com over
HTTPS and can no longer be set from a settings submission. Previously a
crafted admin-context request could store an arbitrary host, which the plugin
then used both for the widget script tag it prints on every page and for the
request that carries your one-time connect token. No merchant action is
  needed beyond updating.

= 1.0.1 =
* Accurate connection status: when your Chatixy plan or trial is not
active yet, the settings page now says the chat is not live and links to
your Chatixy dashboard to start the trial (previously it could claim the
chat was live while the widget stayed off).
* Clearer path to create an account: the widget key field now links new users
  to Chatixy account creation.

= 1.0.0 =
* Initial release: paste widget key, verify connection, inject the Chatixy AI
  chat widget site-wide.

== Upgrade Notice ==

= 1.1.2 =
Wording update: the not-live connection notice now matches the Chatixy
dashboard in every bundled language.

= 1.1.0 =
The settings screen now speaks 20 more languages, and the dashboard link no
longer points at a page that was removed. Includes the 1.0.2 security update.

= 1.0.2 =
Security update. The API host is now pinned to chatixy.com over HTTPS and can
no longer be changed by a settings submission. Update recommended for all sites.

= 1.0.1 =
The settings page now reports accurately when your plan or trial is not active
yet (instead of claiming the chat is live), and links new users to account
creation.

= 1.0.0 =
First public release of the official Chatixy AI Support Agent plugin.
