GEO AIEngineer

Official guide for WordPress Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). Optimize your website discoverability and semantic structure for AI Search Engines and Large Language Models (LLMs).

Introduction

GEO AIEngineer is a cutting-edge WordPress plugin built to address the shift from classic keyword search engines to AI-driven generative engines like ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Gemini (Google), Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot.

Traditional search engines display lists of URLs; AI search engines read, synthesize, and cite site information directly. This plugin provides the structural payload, schema injection, and traffic tracking required to maximize your site's relevance inside generative answers.

AI-Context Endpoint

Serves a clean JSON context file directly to LLM crawlers containing structured metadata, taxonomy info, and body text outlines.

Crawler Tracking

Detects and logs visits from 18+ generative engines. All analytics data is stored locally in compliance with GDPR guidelines.

Dashboard

Access the dashboard via GEO AIEngineer → Dashboard. It is designed to give you immediate insights on how AI engines interact with your content.

Key Metrics Displayed:

Total AI crawler requests, unique crawlers detected, active tracking status, and details about IP address anonymization hashing.

Below the overview, the Crawler Breakdown panel displays a graphical share percentage per crawler, while the Recent Hits table displays the detailed list of requests (URI visited, timestamp, IP hash, and User-Agent).

Settings & Modules Configuration

Configure the plugin components from GEO AIEngineer → Settings. The page is divided into three key sections:

Module Controls

Toggle the Virtual JSON Endpoint, JSON-LD Schema Injection, and AI Crawler Tracking. Deactivating tracking stops logging crawler activity entirely.

Virtual Endpoint

Set the custom slug for the endpoint (default: ai-context.json). When an AI engine requests this path, a virtual response is compiled dynamically from cache. You can also configure the Max Body Text Length (200 - 10,000 characters) to restrict the context size.

Content & Pages selection

Set the selection mode to choose what content to publish to AI:

  • Automatic Mode: Includes the most recently modified pages/posts up to the specified page count limit.
  • Manual Mode (Premium): Allows checking exactly which pages and posts you want to make visible to AI crawlers via an interactive search picker.

SEO Plugin Compatibility

GEO AIEngineer works in harmony with existing plugins such as Yoast SEO, RankMath, All In One SEO (AIOSEO), and SEOPress.

No Duplicate Tags & Smart Delegation

The plugin dynamically detects any active SEO manager on your site. If active, it stops outputting duplicate default schemas (like WebSite, Article, or Breadcrumbs) and delegates them. Instead, it generates and appends an AI-targeted markup block (#ai-markup) that contains entity associations and target audience declarations specifically designed for LLMs.

Privacy & GDPR

Privacy compliance is baked into the architecture of GEO AIEngineer:
